Duties: Analyze requirements to transform into use cases. Design and implement client/server enterprise applications and web applications. Design ETL processes to extract data from different sources, like Oracle and Teradata. Configure and maintain Log Shipping and database mirroring for data recovery. Perform all kinds of back-ups and restore database backup. Conduct performance tuning for slowly performing queries. Design database maintenance plans to take System and User DBs on a daily basis. Create maintenance plans for index defragmentation. Use performance monitor and SQL Profiler for health checks of all the servers. Assignment to client sites on an as needed basis. Experience in design, implementation and development of large data warehouses using various RDBMS. Specify user access level for each segment of one or more data items, such as insert, update and retrieve or delete data, maintain database and users security. Test and correct errors and refine changes to databases. Install, maintain and deploy codes to manage production database. Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to database management systems. Review and correct programs. Decision support systems and Metadata definition. Perform various other database administrator tasks utilizing SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS), Lite Speed, Performance Analysis (PA),Terminal Server, and Entity Relationship Diagram (Erwin).
